Spring Started Today

I know this doesn't jive with the calendar, but I insist.  It's the first day we have no other obligations and we are all out in the yard.  Need I detail what is taking place in the yard?  Probably not.  Let's just say we have a lot of Maple trees and we didn't seem to get all the leaves last fall.....

I'm not used to manual labor.

I'm taking a break.

I got pretty, new garden gloves, though.

Spring Resolves

Ok, so in the northeast we welcome spring with a little more applause than in places we've previously lived like Georgia or Arizona.  Arizona is just one long spring until summer hits!  Regardless, we are so happy for it's eventual revival that we laugh, usually, about the mud that it brings with it!  We're just happy that the sun has decided to migrate north from it's southern abode!

TeenPact has come and gone with more than it's usual rooms securing challenges.  God is at work.  I truly believe that.  We've had seven classes up here so far.  This was the most challenging in regards to the Capitol's hospitality, or lack of it.  That is just because God is moving in hearts and laying a groundwork for our alumni and their parents to make a difference in our blue, very blue, state.

My heartfelt thanks to all the staff who have traveled here to lead the classes over the years.  Fond memories of that first class with David Chapman as both Guest and Program Director, and accompanist.

Most compassion and thanks to Elissa Nowland, that daring young lady from Massachusetts who traveled our state visiting homeschool support groups and making endless phone calls to get that first class started.

Dusting off memories of Nathanael, Erik, and Katherine Sepulveda who were in that very first class.  With Nathanael in subsequent years juggling college, summer camp work, and co-coordinating the class.  Katherine and Erik also doing various tasks in planning and staffing classes in the years that followed.  Happy smiles.

Someday, big things are going to happen as a result.  They are a brewing as I type.  I know they are.  God will move mountains if His faithful pray and seek His will for their work for His kingdom.  Sometimes that work is not in the church, but in the government or in the community.  Find God's work for you and do it will all of your might.  As unto the Lord.  For His Glory.

The Latest

I'm still hanging out on "my other site" more than here.

I've been knitting as a diversion from the ghastly state of politics.

I've been praying for my friends.

I've been reading novels written about knitting.  Yes, guys, there is plenty to write a novel about in the theme of knitting.  Actually, these books companion well with praying for friends who are very ill.  Something about it.

When you get the stomach flu and the thought of drinking coffee makes you gag, the ensuing caffeine withdrawal headache is almost worse than the flu.......don't ask me how I know.......

Empire of the Sun.  The movie.  Has anyone watched it?  We watched it.  We don't get it.

Not Totally Leaving Xanga!

I can't possibly leave Xanga!  I like my header too much.  I think it is cool looking.  Also, I like my connection to my TeenPact friends!  However, for now, I'm doing well if I post anywhere!  While I'm in a Xanga dry spell, I can at least refer folks to my other blog to see what I have managed to post!  Today it is a photo of Anna and her friend Ruth knitting for a cause.

My early concern with Xanga was when I lost track of how to post a photo here.  I thought I had it a long time ago.  Again, there was a dry spell, and by the time I came back, either they had changed things, or I totally got photo upload stupid.  At least I managed to change my photo there on the left.  It now reflects the final total weight loss of 50 lbs achieved in October!  It was nice to get a new military ID and have to tell them they must change the weight.  The same last month when it was time for my new driver's license!!  Yay!!

Anyway, someday when I have time I might explore photo uploading on Xanga again...most likely closer to TeenPact here in Maine which is March 31st through April 4th.

Married 23 years tomorrow!

Where Have I Been?

Whew!  I've been posting once in a while to my other blog.  Not a lot of time to be posting in two or three places.  So, I'm thinking I can just refer you to my other blog where you can catch up on my infrequent posts.

There you will see the latest on construction on our house, (Yipee, Hooray!!  I know you have been dieing to know how that has been going!!!)

You'll see a snippet of Christmas past.

You'll find a link to the web cam of my city's downtown....."City? In Maine?" you wonder!  Yes, while I see Bath as a town, it is actually a city of about 10,000 people!!!

You'll see a glimpse of the snow that inundated the region during the month of December.

You'll also see the latest on Erik who did a life changing thing yesterday.

Yes, for all that and more, go to my other blog.  You'll be amazed at all that you have missed in the days gone by!
